The LIA Engineering Club

The LIA Engineering club consists of a set of after school programs for London International Academy Students. As of September, 2016, there are seven groups that meet regularly in the LIA Engineering Club:

  • 3D CAD / 3D Printing
  • FRC Robotics - Mechanical Team
  • Homeroom - A special homeroom section for Engineering Club students
  • Innovation group - development of new technologies in the club
  • Computer Programming / Science Fair
  • FRC Robotics - Business Group

The LIA Engineering Club

The LIA Engineering Club started in 2012 as a discussion about 3D printing in a physics class.  Students, excited about the prospect of building a 3D printer, formed a lunchtime club. Since then, the LIA Engineering Club developed into the LIA STEM program, a systematic pursuit of STEM education at LIA involving numerous projects, visits from outside experts, professional development for teachers and a much wider variety of club offerings.
